In the framework of the project “Replacement of water supply network and new water tanks in the City of Grevena”, spatial mapping of the Grevena water supply network and creation of thematic maps were conducted using the Geographic Information System (GIS) Software “ArcGIS”.
The project included the survey of 800km water supply network pipes in order to locate leakage points by using acoustic logging techniques and a digital leak noise correlator.
Digital Mapping of 1.500 km network, GIS (ArcInfo) development, flow, pressure and reservoirs level measurements.
The aim of the project was to gather all available water supply network maps, to update and verify their informational data, as well as to digitally map 1500 km of water supply distribution pipes.
